a dose of rock n roll
is the fixx i need when your not around
see it's in your face
don't refuse the thing that keeps me going
bend back & let me rush down your hall
you wear your skirt so high
you smile like a child
but your eyes run so wild
your the roll of the dice
honey why do you look so nice when your down
repeat 1
there's no need to search
i think the church has heard my need
there's about as much of me in you
you hold so much cause you've been around
your there when friends seem so underground
a dose of rock n roll
is the one that makes me hard when things are tight
it's the key where i need to kick the door
it's the healer when the pain is a pain
it's a shoulder when i need someone to lean on -
repeat 1 again end

BEER ON THE SHELF
there you are surrounded
by a group of people
you sit there wondering
who really wants or needs more
you were made of bad intentions
but you refuse to go away
when such a good thing can't be that bad
that's where your wrong
beer on the shelf
that's where you belong
you still think you look good
come to think of it
i think you look better bottled up
that way there's no mess
no stale stain no pain on my gain
can't seem to get you out of my mind
i saw you on t.v.
surrounded by advertisement
someone always has a good word to say about you
as their breath really tastes worst than they admit
shit i better end this
don't want to excite you but i know
beer on the shelf
with so little worth
more or less who's counting calories
not so much
where's the bills that fall on the ground
you better leave now
cause i don't want to see you around

CANDLES BURN
i waste alot of time
listening to rock and roll
but that's alright it's time well spent
honey, where has all the time gone
the way you speak
in that unknown language
makes my mind escape
to that world where you are raped
i'll wait for your love
while my candle burns for you
i can't explain what you do to my desires
you got my flesh in a hot sweat
you got me requesting your love
show me your smile
when i take you a mile
talk to me

CARRIE
Carrie is a girl i met
at a loading zone
scarf around her neck
gypsy boots over her tattooed ankle
she was raised by her grandparents
grew up in the mountains
bathed in the river and basked in the sunlight
she smiled with grace
and made any man proud to lay her down
Carrie you always had a way
to get me carried away
forget life you put my mind in a way to carry on
you carry on
someday i'll carry you away and make you mine
Carrie held reality in her heart
when she spoke she had soul
she's a natural when it came to pleasure
her gentle hands always told me
she'd take me easy when things got too hard
her body told me the truth
when she undid her dress
Carrie never go away
stay till the stars fall down
and your love is the best
as our souls take a leave of rest

DESIGNATED DRIVER
when you find yourself
stumbling out of a bar
the last place you should be is in your car
at least not alone
designated driver
you can call toll free
it's up to you not me
you make the call
it helps us all
let's help some Americans
do test, no driver no go
before they exit the clubs
let's keep the streets safe
designated driver
you can save the night
help your neighbor
when they don't ask
the question we should all be aware
i'm too drunk, too high
to have some common sense

DO YOU KNOW WHEN
do you have the time?
do you know the last time
the sky turned purple - blue
do you remember the last time
you gave charity away
without asking why
when's the last time you heard
a knock on your door
do you know when
it's time to say when
when can be a big question
temptations can be good or bad
don't always trust the taste
remember to check out
once you check in
have you open a jar
but we're unable to feel the bottom
sweet isn't necessarily honey
if you don't first gel
perfume is fine
but don't hide the truth
the beauty within
always has a way of turning me on
the curves that run throughout your body
are more than i could find
on any Hollywood or Detroit freeway
every ounce of drop that falls from you
rest wearily on my soul

EXIT
when you were a child
you grew up fast and wild
your dad was hardly home
and your mother was always smiling
at the fools who called themselves men
the years went by
the tears ran dry
your friends
were your closest companions
got a little high
got a good buzz
got a little squeeze
but you ended up
on hands n knees
exit - you must break the chain
exit - you got to fly away
exit - they never could prison your mind
someone handed you a gun
was a frame
the trigger said your to blame
they locked you up
put your picture on a post
nine years without sunlight
without love
